Engine tech with a "Oh what the f--- is that engine, no way"
Sup everyone,
I'm always watching all sorts of tech oriented kinda vids and what not. Recently while watching the Koenigsegg series from Drive(Youtube) I've learned about the camless tech they are wanting to implement into Production down the road. Now, at the end of this video I want you guys to tell what you see and what engine is in the car. Any ideas?
5:45 can be your starting point but the video as a whole is great. F1 companies like Renault, BMW, Fiat, Valeo, GM, Ricardo, Ford and Lotus have looked into this but due to F1 restrictions haven't been able to test it as much.
Thoughts peeps?

That is what I was thinking, Saab's used LSJ only didn't they? except with turbos? Did they every use DI ecotec? LNF variants? Head design differences huge?

Well, I have a friend of mine(not sure of his username on here) that bought a Saab LSJ with Turbo, put the supercharger on it for a bit and then threw a Hahn S20G in it.

Cam-less engines have been toyed with for years. would obviously be insane to have. i cant see the video at work.
imagine having that nice lopey idle, but being able to change the "cam-grind" so to speak throughout the RPM range for either full power or fuel efficiency? would be pretty insane

Saab used a varient of the LSJ motor called the B207R. it is pretty much the exact same motor but the intake manifold for the LSJ wont bolt up the the B207R without some modification. the LK9 in a Saab 9-3 is a turbo LSJ. My buddy recently got rid of his Sport for one and it moves pretty good. Looks exactly like an LSJ under the hood too. minus the supercharger

I heard about this like a year ago. Very cool. Cars 7-10 years from now are going to have all kinds of awesome engine tech. 400hp and 40 MPG will be a piece of cake.

So I'm curious and want to give Koenigsegg a call. Should I do it? I mean, I understand that a system like this would be ridiculously expensive but I just want to know what they say.
