Exhaust goes on today!!!!!!

Hey guys, I'll FINALLY be putting my GMPP Performance Exhaust on this afternoon and I was wondering if anyone had any tips or anything. I've read through the "how-to" and it seems pretty straight-forward. Just wanted to see if anyone had anything they'd like to share. Thanks guys!

I cant wait.

Just the cat back? Or the vibrant too? It is pretty straight forward, just take your time.

It sounds kinda backwards, but I'm just going to do the catback itself for now. The header/dp will be a project for another day since it sounds like they're a lot more involved

first, you'll love the gmpp!

But yeah, just make sure you don't leave the clamps facing down cause they could potentially scratch the ground. Just check for leaks and torque. Easy ass install man, a lift sure helps too

oh yeah bring a sawzall cause you gotta cut the stock muffler.

I've got my sawzall so I'm good to go. However, I'm stuck doing it in my garage so I'm going to have to rely on my trusty jack stands haha

^^I assume you have the Vibrant header/dp on yours? How do you like the two of them and what exhaust do you have?

Yea, i was really surprised at how easy the exhaust was to put on. if we hadn't had to go buy a new saw (one we had was ancient and broke), it would have taken less than an hour. i just backed the car up on ramps. really easy and lots of room. i have an LS, so it may be a bit different with an SS as far as clearance. btw, once the exhaust gets broken in, you're gonna love it.

i got my stock cat-back off without cutting it. i jacked up the rear-end as high i could and put it on stands, removed rear driver side tire, removed the sway bar, popped the spring out of place, detached the one brake line from a blue clip, dropped the rear suspension, and then wiggled and turned that baby out of there. more work but saves the exhaust for someone else to use if needed...

no need for advice really......i'm probably the least tech-savvy person on this site and even I installed the exhaust with no problems.........although i did have one major hang up. I used a dull hacksaw to get the original off. That didn't work out so hot...lol. Long time, no see.

Should I jack up the whole car or just the back? Where's the best spot to jack it in the rear (lol shut up you know what I mean)

to make it easier i would jack all four corners up. do one corner at a time and go as high as you can with the jack, set the stand, and move onto the next corner. to jack up the rear place the jack right in front of the rear tire. place the stand on the lip that is on the under side of the side skirt only a few inches in. make sure you don't pinch any hoses/brake lines when jacking it up.

SOUNDS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really deep sounding and has a nice rumble to it for a 4-cylinder. Haven't gotten on her full throttle yet, but I love what I'm hearing so far.
I took some vids too. I'll see if I can figure out how to post them a little later haha. I'm such a tease.
