so i got court tomorrow and i have an exhaust ticket from last november, the first time i went the cop didnt show up so im hope he doesnt again. But if hes does does anyone have any suggestions off how i can get out of it. I wasnt driving like an ass or reving it i just got dicked by the law.

is your exhaust over your stated decibal limit? If so, not much you can do. they'll probably give you a fix it ticket.

no exhaust modification is legal in the state of new york. you didnt get dicked over by the law. i have had 4 exhaust violations. just man up and pay it

i dont think its over the legal limit cant i use that as my defense, how can they prove that its over the legal decibal rating without a meter

Did they cop check to see if it was in fact an aftermarket exhaust?

Did he check the decibels of the exhaust?

If not then he has no proof that it's illegal. If he noticed it wasn't a stock exhaust then yes you are in violation.

well since im pretty sure you can't have aftermarket exhaust in NY I WOULD sell the entire system, put your catback on, and get a 3" dp with an electric cutout..... food for thought.... you might even earn money if you can get the right parts

Christ im glad i live in missouri.

here you have to be over a certain db to be illegal. But due to the cops not carrying db meters much less having a set standard for measuring the db (how close the meter is supposed to be) most exhaust tickets get thrown out unless your missing a cat or something like headers only l

I love Nebraska because there are like no exhaust laws. That I know of lol. So many damn ricers with cherry bombs and **** though. Seems to be like a very large amount of civics with fart cans lol.

Yup new york sucks, any exhuast mod is illegal, any window tint other then what comes from the Factory(70%) is illegal, any modification to your taillights is illegal.

But like they say, looking good aint cheap.....

do what i do...i get one of my boys with a shop to write a receipt that says i paid to have my exhaust system exchanged with the stock one. and presto, no fine.
