F*&kin pot hole

So i was on my way to work last night and I hit a pot hole doing 80km/hr it took a 1/4inch chunk outta my rim and the tire had to be replaced. It drives horribly now.

It goes for a alignment in a few days what else could be wrong? what is gonna need to be replaced?

The rim. It's never gonna ride good unless you replace the rim.

Whichever town you were in, call the town hall and tell them about it. It's their roads, they're at fault. Had a friend who put Tein coilovers on his 06 Mazda3 sedan and slammed it. Driving around Bridgeport, CT, he hit a pothole, and on the rebound, either the cradle or the oil pan caught the edge of the hole. Ripped out all the transmission and engine mounts. The city of Bridgeport paid him 7 grand to have it repaired.

Hell even I think it's stupid he had the city pay for it. Insurance would've covered it so why he did that is beyond me. But yea. OP is a different case. It's the city's job to maintain the roads so we DON'T damage our cars.

MA made a law a few years ago now, stating that they are not responsible for damages caused by such issues

In ontario, 99% of pothole claims are denied. Sucks.

I used one of my winter rims as the same as stock, I have a claim going with the maintenance company in charge of the road and have yet to hear back from them about it.
I'm just hoping that it isn't gonna cost me alot of money. So far its cost me $22 for the new tire from discount tire (thank god for the extra coin i paid for a warranty on the tire).

Were you on a city road when this happened, and if you were why should your rim be replaced if you were speeding.

I always wondered why its so hard for the city just to fill the holes with dirt occasionally? Better than having someone reck driving into one.

hes probably full of it. NO ONE will pay a dime to some douche that broke his car on a pothole after he lowers his car within a cell phones height distance of the road.

because dirt would just wash out the first time it rained. You need something like a concrete or asphalt patch, which at least around here usually doesn't hold up well either.

Yup same in Manitoba. My mom crushed a rim on her Grand Prix GXP hitting an insane pothole and tried to go after the city. When you sign your insurance in the fine print there's a spot that says you cannot sue the city for damages to your car.

Rocks, pebbles or crushed asphalt anything is better than a hole.

Except for when they overfill the holes with asphalt like they do around where I live and then you have a million speed bumps to avoid instead of a million holes

I personally feel that the city should have to pay for Damage caused by faulty roads.

Theres this one road(a majour one to) called Throton road here, and I swear to God its like the surface of the moon, and its complete bullshit that its my problem if I break my car on it, this road needs to be torn up and redone.

demento------ I was on the Highway doing the posted limit...I'm going to see if the rim is repairable if not ill have to pick one up from the wreckers or Craigslist.

Shogokuma-- it pulls to the right alot and its alot harder to keep the car going in a straight line.
I had an alignment done a month or 2 ago so i know something is outta wack.

As for the the condition on the road there is a maintenance company that takes care of that stretch of highway and i called them and the gave me the number for their legal dept. I callled them the day after and have yet to hear back but so far its cost me 22 buck for the tire and it will be 70 for the alignment if there is nothing bent. In that case ill cut my losses and that would be the end of it.

That wast te pot plea fault. If you look up tsb's for ms3 and regular Mazda 3 the motor mount on the passenger side snaps completely and the engine drops obviously to the ground and sometimes does take the passenger axle with it. I would say all the time but I've seen 1 occasion where the axle did not snap. Bent yes haha
