Factory airbox vs GMPP cool air intake Dyno results!!

Hey CSS community I have a little bit of info that may interest quite a few of you. How about some dyno proof.

So I'm currently a student at Lincoln College of Technology, I'm in my third phase which is fuels and emissions. I proposed an idea to my instructor to compare the differences between my factory air box, and my GMPP cool air intake. I made multiple passes on the dyno which was an experience in itself being my first time.

All passes were fourth gear pulls from 45mph to the factory limited 105mph

First run with a cool engine, factory air box and hood closed was when we got the best results out of the plastic intake.

129 hp @5411rpm & 130 FtLbs of torque @4498rpm
With a scan tool hooked up my MAF sensor was pulling 96.2 GPM

We did have a four gas analyzer in the exhaust but I haven't gotten the readings back yet.

Fourth pass with a pretty warm engine & the hood open + GMPP intake installed, same test window

139.2hp @5297rpm & 138.6ftlbs @4207rpm
MAF was pulling 114.6GPM

Final pass with hood closed & GMPP intake

135.6hp @5390rpm & 133.6ftlbs @4388
MAF pulling 107.7GPM

Am I happy with my new intake? Yes! Not to mention the sound it makes is amazing past 3krpm

I was told by my fellow students that when the new intake was added my exhaust gasses had leaned out a little bit but I unfortunately don't have all the specs from the four gas analyzer:/

If I could post the multiple videos taken with my phone I would cause the tone sounds surprisingly good not to mention my catback from an ss that helped with that.

All in all good food for thought when looking to but an intake I bought Mir used for 80 bucks and I couldn't be happier with it.

Yup well base model 2.2. No other mods just the intake and the catback. Are they worth the 200+ you can pay for a new one? Maybe not. But it gives it an awesome tone. One thing I wish I would have done is pass with the plastic clip in housing off to see how it would behave sucking air from the top of the engine. I also had the noodle resonator pulled out from the bottom side of the intake.
