First oil change

Hey everyone,
I know we have the oil life meter, and mine is at 59%, I've had my car since the end of August, and haven't gone for my first oil change.

So... do I need to get my first one done soon, or should I wait until the meter hits around 10% and call up my dealer? (I get my first oil change free, and then every 5th is a free one after that).

Would be in your best interest to get an oil change. Your oil has all the metal shavings and all that other crap in it because the engine was being broken in. Apparently you don't drive it much since the oil meter is pretty muched based on mileage. So 5 months may be acceptable in the future although I dont recommend waitin more than 4 months to get one. In conclusion get your oil changed asap because your oil contains alot of contaminants in it due to the engine being broken in.

You should have gotten your first oil change at 3K miles or before

Its based roughly on mileage and the way you drive like if your always on it and what not.

Still should have gotten one within the first 3 or 3K

Yeah, I don't drive much since I live at school - I drive 15 miles each way once a week, so I only have 1880 miles on my car. Alright, the dept is closed early on Saturday, I'll call monday and get an appt this week. Thanks guys!
