General Motors and the United Auto Workers will hold a car and bike show next Saturday at the Lordstown Assembly Plant.
The show will feature hundreds of modified Cavaliers and Sunfires as well as the new supercharged SS version of the Cobalt, which will be built at the plant.
The show, which is free to spectators, opens at 9 a.m. and continues until 5 p.m. In addition to the automotive displays, including GM racing vehicles, there will be activities for children and a talent show.
To reach Lordstown take the Lordstown exit from the Ohio Turnpike. The show will be in the parking lot southeast of the plant. The show will be held rain or shine. For information call 330-824-6575.
Cleveland car show
The seventh annual All Pontiac Car Show and Swap Meet is today in Eastlake. It is sponsored by the North Coast Pontiac Chapter.
The show opens at 9 a.m. at 35150 Lake Shore Blvd., behind Eastlake City Hall. There is no fee for spectators.
Cleveland car show
Next Sunday, Aug. 8, the Cleveland Police Law Enforcement Explorers and www. clevelandcreditunion.org will hold a car show and offer crime-prevention information from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the city's Municipal Parking Lot across from Burke Lakefront Airport.
There is no charge for spectators. Call Regina Kelley at 216-861-3535. In case of rain, the event will be held Sunday, Aug. 15.
Parma car show
On Saturday, Aug. 14, the Runners Hot Rod Association will hold a show open to all types of vehicles at 7863 York Road in Parma from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Cruising
Convertibles will be the featured vehicles Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. during a cruise-in at Solon Commons east of Harper Road just off Ohio 43. The event is organized by Rock and Roll Capital Street Machines.
There is cruising every Saturday until October from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Super K Cruise-In at the Mentor Commons. The event is for pre- 1980 cars and trucks only.
Tony Roma's in Westlake will hold a cruise- in every Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m.

hey guys just got back from Lordstown and the j-bash
They had a bunch of cobalts there and 1 SS SC in yellow with the yellow insert leather seats.
Car looked fantastic! Got some pix just have to upload them.
