GMPP Catback Exhaust - Opinions?

Hey all.....I honestly havn't done my research on these yet, but here's the deal...Long story short, I have connections and now I need to choose in one night which catback I want (No charge for me). I wasn't planning on putting a new exhaust on yet, I actually like the stock sound, but it's FREE...are they any good or is there a better brand? I know theres Megan Racing, GMPP, etc.....any advice good or bad would be greatly appreciated! Thanks all!

They're all about the same...some just sound different than others. If price wasn't an issue I would chose the Corsa Sport. I believe it's 2.5" in diameter...GMPP is 2 and a quarter I believe. Do NOT go over 2.5" though

BTW, how the hell do you race better in high heels?

haha it's kind of a joke....Im always wearin heels cuz of my job (thats why i keep ruining my floor mats) and Ive raced at maple grove couple times in heels....I can beat anyone off the line even in 6" heels haha....I honestly drive my cobalt so much better in heels then sneakers, if that makes sense.

I appreciate the input

I just don't want my Balt to sound ricey

Interesting...maybe you should try racing in boots

BTW, you're kinda hot

There's the Corsa Sport. To my surprise most of the aftermarket exhaust systems don't sound ricey.

Thanks for the link and the compliment
That is jsut my biggest fear...I didnt really get to compare exhausts and I just cannot drive around in something that sounds ricey...I would be driving with my windows up all the time!!

Get the GMPP... it's not too loud... nice and mellow sounding. Everyone that's ever heard my exhaust loves it.

I had the Corsa on my car and it was a too loud for me. The sound quality improved as I put miles on it but it was just too much. I ended up with the GMPP Touring exhaust and absolutely love it. It has a better sound than stock, looks great, fits great, has proven gains and doesn't scream rice at all.

Hey RaineMan, do you have the performance/sport or the touring? Is the sport too loud?

I'm REALLY happy with my megan cat-back. Not too loud, no rasp, and has a clean sound to it. not to mention, my car felt and sounded faster once i put it on

I've got the perf/sport. No it's not too loud... there are plenty of ricers with fartcannons out there that are louder than my exhaust is.

Remember the GMPP exhaust is just 2.25" so it dosen't sound bad. The amazing thing is the amount of popping and backfire I get out of this system once it gets warmed up. In the mornings when the car has sat for a while you can barely hear the exhaust at all for the first 10mins or so.

I have the GMP Touring catback system. It is very nice. Has a good sound to it not loud enoug for me. It almost sounds stock with a little bit more of a mellow rumble. I was a very easy install and IMO GMP exhaust is the best. I did notice some gains with it. If I could go back and do it all over I would get the other GMP exhaust called the sport or performance exhaust. Good luck.

here's some links to what the GMPP Touring sounds like inside and outside of the car, windows up/down and on a SS/SC - clips on CED site are on an auto...

Inside car w/all windows shut, 30-80 mph, 3-4 gear:

Outside car WOT driving away & w/driveby decelerating, up to 80ish mph, to 3rd gear:

Inside car cruising around town w/all windows open, 30-50mph:

I really enjoy my performance cat-back GMPP. It's not too loud unless you go wot on it. The parts for touring vs. performance are exactly the same except for the muffler and you can choose a straight or cut tip of your choice. Best results for a gain and retain your warrenty!!!!!!

Hey I got the Performance finally installed...It sounds awesome - very clean not ricey at all. The tone is perfect along with the sound level. PLUS it's the cheapest not that it applies here
