Good luck!!
Unfortunatley everyone else has screwed it up for the people with good history therefore making it so hard to get a mortgage now
Times have definitely changed....we got a no doc loan....they probably don't even offer that anymore.....lol

True, body kit is expensive and i forgot about 2.2L tuning. Haha, sell it! Get a 2.4L to keep the loan amount down and ins. down. Then turbo THAT.

people are not quick to lend you a few hundred thousand dollars regardless of the economy if you don't have a solid credit foundation, you won't get a mortgage. but, keep in mind that bad credit is MUCH better than no credit believe it or not. someone with a low credit score, but with credit that has been established for a while has a much better chance of getting approved vs. someone that has little to no credit, even if they have a good score. putting down a big down payment will definitely help since you don't have to borrow as much money, and they look at alot of things besides credit. income, bills, etc.
Thanks!!! Yeah I got in a mess a few years back with medical bills and stuff and I'm digging myself out. I have a year of 100% clean credit and a stable job now so HOPEFULLY I'll be OK.

Yep. House is $80k, I'm borrowing between $64-70k so I SHOULD be OK. That and we haven't been hit as hard here with the mortgage crunch because houses are (obviously) very affordable here.

You're making the right choice. THERE IS MORE TO A CAR THAN JUST THE ENGINE.
The SS/SC does not share a single drivetrain and suspension component with the 2.2. The entire underpinning of the car is different. Then there's the interior which has nice touches here and there. Oh and Factory > Aftermarket.
Get the SS/SC.

i had my 2.2 for almost 2 years, and the first time i drove a ss/sc it was a totally different car. I honestly wasn't expecting as big of a difference as there actually was. I had my car out of the red though, if vibrant trades in after having it a few weeks, he's going to lose an assload of money. is it a much better car? hell yea, no questions asked. but, at the same time it's not worth it if you have an assload of negative equity.

how much do you owe on your car now? trade in on these cars BLOW, i was lucky to ge 10,000 for my base model, but most guys get way less than that. I also drove 15 hours roundtrip to get that 10 grand, and got a good deal on my 2.0 for $15,000 with 15,000 miles.

I doubt they give you anywhere near what you want. I work for a dealership and they will only give me 15,500 for my 07 ss/sc with 9,000 miles in amazing condition. I was going to trade my balt in on a used vette today untill they told me what I was getting for my car.

well i have a 06 LT cobalt with 41k miles. I hoping for like 7k dont really want to take any less. Got it year ago for 16k. I think in a few more months im going to trade it in for a SS/SC if a dealer would give me like 7k. would buy a subaru wrx but there too much.
