There are different steps to production. You can have your order approved but still not be approved and scheduled for production. Untill Lordstown has approved the vehicle for production and scheduled it you will not have a build date. (I still dont have a build date but should later this week or next) Best thing to do is call your dealership that you placed the order with.

build date as well
I've also ordered my car, bout 2 months now, called my dealership, they said that my order has been preferenced for production, no idea what that means, but the GM REP for the dealer i'm going through is coming in on Friday so he's gonna see if he can find out more info for me. If anyone knows what preferenced for production means i'd apprecaite feedback, thanks.

Same here man, it means that they are not ready to build ur car and they basical buidl it when its convient for them, as well ur order has to be aprroved by lordston, when that happens than a build date is assigned to your order. I called GM today and asked them for a build and the lady told me she well contact my dealer and tell the representative that took my order to talk to the ordering department to get things moving. Those were her words. I would love to know my build date, but according to my dealer im looking at a 3-4 month wait.

ok thanks, this is the first car i've ordered so i don't know the stages in which a car goes through. I hope both of ours doesn't take 3-4 months, end of May would be nice, perfect for summer weather and sunroof up and stereo cranked

Status Event Codes
Gm uses a bunch of status event codes, but you need your salesperson or a dealer to keep you up to date using your six character order code. The following comes from the Corvette Forums and has proven to be true in real ife:
1100 - Order placed at dealer
1101 - Order accepted by GM (means your dealer has an allocation for such)
2001 - Order generated to dealer
2050 - Order changed
2500 - Order sent to production (Preferenced)
3000 - Order accepted by production control (very good, you're getting close)
3100 - Order available for sequence (all prior TPW's were guesses, now its probable)
3300 - Order selected for assembly (constraints such as lack of Quaife's can keep you from getting to 3300)
3400 - Order broadcast for production (this is it, its about to start down the line)
3800 - Vehicle produced (yea!)
4150 - Vehicle invoiced to dealer (dealer gets the invoice just before shipping)
4200 - Vehicle shipped)
5000 - Vehicle delivered to dealer
6000 - Vehicle delivered to customer
My sales person lets me know whenever she gets an update. IE my SS just went to 3000 with a TPW of 04/25/2005 after languishing at 2500 with a TPW of 04/11/05 for some time. 1101 is important for those who want to order an SS/SC because there is a limited amount of cars being allocated. Some of my nearby dealers still don't have an allocation while Buff Whelan has already delivered TWO to retail customers.
I think this answers your intended question.
