Well, the guy on "Tuner Transformation", when they did the Cobalt They called it Echo-tec. And thats coming from John Henrich (sp?) who does GM perfromance cars. But I think GM sez it wrong so I will continue to say it E-Co-Tec. YEEEEE

I say it E-co-tec, but D4 is absolutely right, the PROPER pronunciation is ECHO-tec.
It's not really where YOU come from, it's where the motor comes from. It's European and the crazy Europeans decided it would be named the ECHO-tec.

EEEEEEcotec.
Echo tec sounds like a high tech dolphin, or a motor with sonar power.
i rarely ever hear anyone pronounce it echo. even those who arent familiar with it still pronounce it like me. however i dont get bent out of shape and try to "correct" people who say echotec. I know what they are talking about, even the old man beside us in the fleetwood brougham knows what we're talking about

Yep, and the Z06 is the Zed-odd-six. All kinds of different pronunciations over there.

Thats true I didnt think about that. But since the cobalt is an Eeeeconomical car, I think thats what it is no matter how you pronounce economical.
