How Fast...
#28
I searched and I could not find any thing.
How fast have your driven your SS/SC?
Yesterday, I wanted to see how fast I could go, to the point of being scared, plus I needed to get off the next exit.. In a blink of an eye, I was doing 130+ MPH, I have not driven that fast since my Camaro. It was pretty cool and scary at the same time. Not going to do that any time soon either.

I hit about 110 on the interstate on ramp after getting my Stage 2 installed. Then realized I had just topped 3rd and had to merge into traffic soon. AWWWWW! Brakes!

Did 145mph in my friends SS the other night. Only reason I didn't go faster was because of the state trooper I passed in the opposite direction. Thank goodness for backroads. Fun night though.

Well, in over 20 years of racing/driving performance cars I never once did a top speed run.
I was mostly interested in drag racing, but I was always able to know the top speed of any given vehicle just be reading a road test of them.
Most major automotive journals will report within 1 or 2 mph of each other a car's top speed.
Our stock SS/SC's will top out at in the low 140's with wind drag being the limiting factor (and not the rev limiter):
Car and Driver
The Quickest Cars of 2007: $20,000 to $25,000
http://www.caranddriver.com/features...ercharged.html
Top speed (drag limited): 141 mph
And there you go ...

It was done about 5:30am so nobody was on the road except for me.
I'll never do this again (I ****!!!!! My Pants). I suggest you take your car to a track to do something like this again. The fastest I had pushed my car since then was about 100mph just keeping up with traffic comming home from work on the I87.

I hit 157 mph then had to stop cause I couldnt handle the g/f screaming in my ear anymore so I dropped back down to cruising speed. I would never do a high speed pull in the middle of the night for the fact that I seen someone do that before and spun out and rolled there car cause a deer ran in the road

In alaska the sun doesn't go down during the summer so it's hard not to see any animals out. Cuz moose would **** up your car more than a deer....but again, it was bright as day so I was good to go.

**** you guys are crazy. I mean, I hit that 110 I said once but that was on a brand new on-ramp to the interstate that was about a half mile long with no way to cut me off and no one else on it. And I've never since gotten anywhere close to that.
