How to launch a Cobalt SS - non LSD
Anyone have a good technique yet?
Dropping at 1800rpm seemed to work pretty well for me. I got good traction on a wet road. Anything above 2k resulted in lots of spinning and wheel hop.

Sounds good, I'll try it next time I'm at the track.
Also, I've yet to spin just one tire going straight.
In fact I hit the throttle in a low speed turn and the
car went straight (both tires broke loose), no G85!
However, in a sharp low speed turn I can smoke the
inside tire.
Not sure if LSD would make much differance Drag racing
as both wheels are engaged.

I figure if the magazines can do it, we should be able to also. Do you think
they changed the tires?
We just have to practice a little and find that fine line.
The strip though is different from launhing on the street, I actualy spin more
at the track, so far.
And yes, I believe the tires are too hard.

I hear people saying that they can chirp 3rd gear on the SS/SC. I still haven't yet. If I launch easy then get on it the tires grip fine for me, but then of course the tires break going into 2nd. Maybe it's because I live in Florida and the temp's are already getting into the 90's...
