A lot of people seem to be jumping ship or moving on, depends on how you wanna look at it. I was just curious the ones with Cobalts, how long you intend to keep it?

I purely purchased my Cobalt SS as a stepping stone to another better car. I needed something inexpensive that could help boost my credit and this was perfect. At this point though, I don't think I can get the car I want and if I can't then I will keep the Cobalt until its paid off and in the meantime, build the motor and all that.
So at this point I'm at a cross roads... Sell all the stuff off it like the BNR and all that and trade it in or, keep it and build the motor.

Car has been payed off for more then 2 yrs. I am not like most people that goes and buys a new car at the flip of a dime. New job, same old car. Nothing wrong with it. Plus I only buy a car if I know i want it, and I do not bitch and complian about its flaws.

The plan was forever till I could not keep it running. But changed my mind as you can see via my sig. I absolutely love the car, its been a gem since I bought it 5 years ago but giving my current situation if I could get out of the payment I would be better off. If it does not sell, pending sale at the moment, then I am going to stick it out the next year and it'll be paid off and going nowhere, besides a trip to zzp once I have paid off other debts and have the money for some goodies.

I plan on putting mine on jack stands this winter and rebuilding it. Spending probably 4,000 on new motor and suspension parts. I don't see the point in spending $20,000+ on a car that doesn't do anything more than my cobalt does.
I'm buying a cheap 4x4 pickup for the winter and for yard work and to hall parts back and forth for the car. I will daily the truck and keep the cobalt clean inside the garage.
The only reason people buy new cars is for the warrenty. Being a mechanic, I don't need someone else to fix my car, so i don't care about paying $20,000 to make sure my car doesn't blow up.

12500 miles on my 06 ss/sc, its paid off and fresh to death. Not to mention that there are not very many cars in my area that can keep up without spraying theirs. Bottom line, I plan on hanging on to her till god forbid i total it or if i hit a million dollars and buy a jet pack.

Probably indefinitely at this point, not only am I happy drvining it indefinitely but there's no other cars out there I really want other than a Camaro or used Vette which I can't afford either at this point. Next priority is gonna be housing, be it an apartment or maybe even a cheap house, therefore the balt will stay. I like get a kick out of driving it so no reason to get rid of it.
