Pistons and rods will come after next summer. Still deciding what turbo to run. Goal is 500whp on kill. Plan on gutting half the car too. It's going to be a weekend car in a couple years. I may buy something v8 and rwd for a new dd. lol. Doin it backwards.

I usually keep my cars at least 15 years, in Michigan it's kinda hard to keep them longer due to the rust. My Cobalt is getting stored every winter (so far), so maybe I'll keep it longer. I like getting the most out of my money, so I buy new, maintain the hell out of them and cut my insurance down to PLPD after they're paid off. Ownership becomes very cheap after that.

When parts get hard to get or maint. costs per month get high, it's time to buy another one. I had my '77 Chevy PU for about 20 years, but the body rusted off the frame. Sold the engine (350 small block) to a guy with another truck, years later he sold the engine to another guy, I lost track of it after that, I hope it's still alive some where....

I have 3 cars now, a '98, an '05 and a 2010. The 98 is holding up, I'm thinkin it's got another 5 years or so in it (my winter ride). The 05 is pretty mint, my wife's DD, although she's whining about getting a new car.

I got my blue ss/tc about a yr and a half ago and I love it. It's so much fun to drive when you get into the boost and when you shift early and only give it 1/4 throttle, it gets great mpg. Most fun i've had in a car since the 1st day I bought a 98 Trans Am. I dont see myself getting rid of it anytime soon. It's paid off and runs great with 66,000 on it with a cold air intake and GM stage 2 comp upgrade.
