How-to Video: Repair one or more dead buttons on your key fob

My trunk button on my key fob hasn't worked properly in ages. There are many ways to go about fixing this with household products, but I chose to purchase this insert from KeylessFix.com - The Best GM Remote Fix to do it. Easy to do, and it restores dead buttons to like new operation. You could buy a new button pad, and it may be the same cost or cheaper, but no doubt it will do the same thing in time. This literally takes seconds to do. Do not by any means go to a dealer and buy a new remote, unless you like to watch your money burn

Soldering does work when the problem lies with the battery holder breaking loose from the board, but that wouldn't fix a button or two that stopped working due to worn pads on the back of the buttons.

i may get this...nothing is worse than running to your car in the rain and unlock button refuses to work.

my lock/unlock are intermittent and work most of the time...but not all the time.

Cut out aluminum foil with a hole punch and glue them on the buttons. Same thing and cheaper

I just clean the carbon pads and contacts on the circuit board with a pencil eraser when mine starts having trouble. The eraser usually fixes it and its just about free
