Honestly, I was looking at the new Eclipses before I bought my Cobalt SS. I test drove a 2007 Eclipse GT and I would never step foot in that car ever again. The handling was rough. The suspension felt as if you were riding over a million uneven train tracks. Audio wasn't impressive. It was a horrible test drive to say the least and quickly eliminated my choice for a new Eclipse.

well i currently have an 06 eclipse gt and have to say if you were offered the gs...tell them to shove it because its not worth what an 05 or 06 cobalt ss is worth...gt is about equal on value....

and as to the aftermarket....dont even try to get the eclipse if you are thinking of modding...nothin is out there and what is out there is outragiously priced....

If you want a really fast car for the cheapest ide say go for the Mustang GT. RWD is a much funner platform anyway.

I have an 06 too and haven't had any real problems with mine so i guess it just depends . The car he's looking at has only been in once in 30K miles .
