I need Help !!!!
Well I bought an 06 Blue Cobalt LT 2dr Coupe, its an automatic ( i know im not pleased with myself either ) but its my first car and I couldnt get financed for the black Cobalt SS so I got this one. Now I know I prob will get flammed for having the 2.2L and a automatic but please keep it down to a minimal I beg you.
But back to the subject, i need ideas for bodykits, mods, upgrades, anything that can help out really, I am an Airman First Class in the USAF so im not that rich so reasonable tips would be appreciative but the outrageous will be considered lol, thanks for any help that comes my way, and i cant wait to get pics up on here wit me and my whip.
Peace
Ryan

Yea no problem with the 2.2. I got friends that would kill for one. But anyway here are some suggestions.
Go with GMPP parts. There effective and will not cause you any warranty issues because there GM. I would recommend;
1) GM catback exhaust
2) GM cold air intake
3) GM honed exhaust manifold
This should give you a noticable increase in power. After that i would recommend getting some 17's or 18s and dropping the car with a nice set of springs. This along with some tint and debadging will make your car look extremely clean.
IMHO a body kit would not be necessary unless you just have alot of money burning a hole in your pocket. A lowered 2.2 with rims looks plenty good enough.
If you really want power, go for 75ish shot of nitrous and an aftermarket intake manifold. We had a 2.2 around here pull a 14.6 on nitrous (but he blew his intake manifold because there plastic)
Whatever you, do not put a SS/SC wing on it. There are plenty of other spoiler options and most guys on here will get pissed if you do that.
Anyways, good luck and welcome to cobaltss.net!!!!

Performance wise go with the GMPP Intake and performance exhaust -- you'll enjoy the sounds and like the look under the hood. Check CED for the best deals.
Interior wise GM has a number of accessories to personalize your Cobalt. Again check what's available at CED (CED=CrateEngineDepot -- Site supporter and vendor).
Good choice -- don't appologize for buying a 2.2L

Agreed. I would not invest any money into the performance aspect of that car. I would focus more on the visual side of things. A stereo system, rims, different lights etc... Don't go the body kit route though. I manage a paint and body shop and can tell you from experience, they almost never fit without a fair amount of fabrication work.

Let him do performance if he wants. Just because its not going to be competitive with SS/SC and SRT4 doesn't mean he shouldn't do it.
Theres a certain dignity in having something aftermarket under the hood to go along with tons of appearance mods. Even if its only 10hp.
