Bayonne would honestly be the cheapest if you're looking for a way to commute into NY. Jersey City is closer to NY, some parts can be a little cheaper, but a lot of the neighborhoods aren't so friendly. Hoboken is expensive as **** so I wouldn't even bother. Plus there's no parking EVER. My dad owns some apartment buildings in Bayonne though and I think he charges around 800 or 900 for a 2 bedroom, really nice apartment like 4 short blocks away from two lightrail stations. That could give you a roundabout as to how much you'd be paying.
