Just picked up a '09 SS/TC!! first mods?
So I just picked up a blue 2009 G85 SS with 68k on it. Ill probably just be snooping around for a while but wanted to introduce myself. I'll be on a budget until the end of the year but I'd love to do some basic cosmetic or inexpensive performance mods in the meantime. I'm thinking of repainting the front calipers, low-rise delete and airbox mod from what I've seen. I'd like to do something with the exhaust - muffler delete or save up and buy a catless DP? Ill be doing the trifecta tune after this winter as well as some good tires. I'm open to any suggestions and ill get pics up soon!

Wow - holy quick replies - people aren't quite so good on the mustang forums Haha.
Anyone in the Denver area? I keep seeing forcefedproduction's videos on YouTube running at bandimere, is he on this forum? Cheers and thanks for the replies!

So what is the concensus on the tune - HP or trifecta? Is the HP selectable? I want to do some scca stuff this spring and don't want to get into a class I can't compete effectively in. I'm thinking I could sneak in a selectable tune as long as its off lol.

hp is not selectable as far as i know. i bought trifecta and ran it for about a month then everyone told me to switch to hp to make my car run much better. which it does!!! so HP all the way, as many people will say trifecta is a can tune !and will blow your sh*t up

Fuel economy with those mods and HP tune? I'm getting around 27 around town and 32ish on the hwy now bone stock. Are these numbers repeatable with a 22-23 psi tune?

I am currently getting around 23 mpg and that is on hp tune @ 24psi (catless dp, k&n intake, magnaflow exhaust, aftermarket charge pipe, tr8 intercooler). I rarely drive down the highway so i have no clue what my highway mileage would be.

I'm sure that's highly dependant on the weight of your right foot too. Does boost come on sooner? I could see this affecting mileage as even now its somewhat tricky to stay out of boost even stock. Don't get me wrong I'm no hypermiler but gas mileage was one of the factors that got me into the cobalt. (Mostly it was its nurburgring laptime) XD

i am usually pretty easy on the right foot. i loose a little mpg with out cats. but i have never been able to avg 27 mpg. and yes the turbo spools quicker, i have a tune for Mr.Rakes (he has like 3 screen names on here) but he has it setup for the turbo to spool quicker.

People talk about HP tunes like you can buy a tune from them...... HPtuners is a program and interface that allows you to change the calibration of your car.... not a calibration itself.
So if you take that into consideration you could have a joe blow tune from someone who doesnt know **** but has hptuners and a cable .

I see your in Colorado, I would highly recommend a set of charge pipes and an intercooler. It gets cold there so you will most likely crack the stock ones very fast with the cold.

If you do want an HP tune, I have HP Tuners Pro.
