I suggest simply driving it to get used to the car. Then pick out where you want to go from there.

This. GM HIGHLY RECOMMENDS top tier gasoline and frequent oil changes with premium oil. (Mobil 1 5w-30)

Neglect either, and you will have this.

Definately hear you there. I have always taken excellent care of my cars but I never met the owner - got the car at a dealership on consignment.

I brought it by a Chevrolet dealership next to my work today on lunch to ask about the GMS1 tune (purely out of curiosity/boredom). They checked my vin and I still have 2 years and 30k miles left on my powertrain warrantee - curious if there is any way I could get them to check out my intake valves (ie: key words) without having to pay them to tear the engine apart...

Beyond that I've noticed it is difficult to shift smoothly into 2nd (syncros?) and when I shift into third I get a mechanical clunk noise that I wouldnt really describe as "bad" sounding but definately something I have not heard in other MT cars.

I'm relatively new to a manual transmission (my first car with a standard trans) and would really love to have someone out here in Denver with another SS/TC drive my car and let me know of anything I should bring in for warrantee.

Again I may just be paranoid with a new car but im a "better safe than sorry" kinda guy!

I doubt they would do it ...... they will prolly say their needs to be a mechanical issue before they will work on it .

It's pretty simple to pull the intake and clean them up if you need to , its basically a 20-25 dollar gasket and a couple hours time .

most of the aftermarket tunes close the wastegate earlier and increase the throttle response so there is less delay in the throttle opening from pedal pressure. Yes the boost comes on alot sooner for the same pedal pressure that your used to on the stock tune. Its night and day actually.

The stock tune actually feels like a bad boost leak once you get used to a tune. If your worried about warranty, you can buy a second LNF PCM from ZZP or anybody in the for sale section here. Just tune the 2nd PCM and leave the original PCM factory. They are very easy to switch (takes two seconds). The PCM is located just in front of the fuse box under the hood on the driver side, right next to the upper charge pipe.
