Little plastic thing under the front bumper

You all know the thing I'm talking about. It sticks downward from the area around the SS/SC radiator and stock H/E.

Does anyone know if that thing functions as an air scoop of sorts? Does it have a purpose? Cause if not, I'm taking it off lol

It directs air to your condensor, stock heat exchanger, and radiator during low speed travel. I wouldnt remove it.

yeah like staged said it used for slow driving, cuz at fast driving above 55ish theres no need somewhat because you have all the air pushing in the front, but its still usable. i took mine off and my ect never went above 185.

probably but my meth is only on when i get on it. so just regular cruising around town its never really on. i'm also turbo swapped as well so i have a fmic sitting in front of everything and still no cooling problems. thats what we have electric fans for

very true.

Think theres any truth behind the "increases downforce" thing? That thing flexes like crazy...I cant imagine it doing anything for downforce

I could have swore CED were selling the factory ones as a mod for the 2.2l cars. Check their site.

This is quite possibly one of the funniest things I've seen a noob say on this site.

I like mine, if I'm pulling onto/off of a slope like pulling into a restaraunt or something, it hits before my bumper does.. then I'm prepared for dragging.. haha.
Doesnt help the fact that I'm going to drag, but you know.
