Lookin' to get a Cobalt SS 2.4 auto
#26
With bolt on's and a tune, the auto 2.4 will run 0-60 mid to low 6's. Which will run neck and neck with Grand Prix GTP (stock)..I should know since I used to have one. I think it's pretty decent for a daily driver. It's a good balance between power, handling, and braking.

I beleive i said the cobalt was faster. What i was refering to the grand prix getting to speed limit speeds ie 20, 35, 40 mph at a more reasonable pace than the 2.4 would all you have to do is drive the 2 cars and youll understand what i mean. The cobalt seems to have to work harder in the low end where all your real daily driving is done. Its almost like the car greets every pavement romping with a limp wristed hand shake. Ultimatly its just unsatisfing to an individual who really craves a vehical capable of becoming neiborhood car guy gossip as opposed to "those damn ricers".
I mean who can honestly say they saw a streetable 2.4 cobalt ever lay down a 30 footer or put on a smoke show that clouded the entire intersection so thick you couldent see more than tail lights?

-The first word of advice I have for you is that if you live in a place with unstable weather patterns such as Ohio or PA, make sure you get winter tires for your 2.4L. With stock tires in winter going up unplowed hills or unplowed streets (such as Youngstown) will make you want to go into a coma.
-I feel that the engine is pretty powerful for a N/A 4cyl, yet the auto tranmission seems to hold back some of its potential. I have to agree with Evil C on the gas mileage, I usually see about 25mpg or less with mostly highway miles.
-Overall, the car is enjoyable to drive (except in winter) and its a nice balance of decent power, fuel efficiency, and looks.
