looking to buy a cobalt but does this sound right?
09 Cobalt LS 2 Dr , 5 spd , 36mpg in Town, Only 27K mi Needs Quarter
i called this man about his cobalt he said the car is now a salvage title due to the quarter panel damage as well as the bumper according to him the damage is all cosmetic what kind of things should i look for when inspecting the car bent frame? a pull while test driving or should i steer clear completely because its a salvage?
and can a car be savaged or totaled from this kind of( cosmetic) damage?
this will be my second car and im really pushing for a cobalt any advice will be much appreciated thank-robert

i would like to imagine that damage was caused by the driver pretending to be in tokyo drift while leaving walmart with a trunk full of groceries haha
but seriously that looks to be a little more than just cosmetic...
that wheel had to be replaced, what else is wrong that they hid?
dont get me wrong ive seen some stupid insurance companies but wouldnt an insurance company fix it and not make it salvage if it was ONLY cosmetic?

is this pp or stealership/wholesale stealership?
because PP value in fair condition is 8k only 3k more... stealership value is 12-11k but it has the salvage title and i know a dealership wont touch that unless they pad $5 unless it was a wholesale/auction type of place
if you could get it for 2500-3000 id jump all over that

look under the car and basicly look for bent, cracked metal. check struts, springs, rear axel, hubs, brakes. compair it to the other side if your unsure. it will definatly need an alignment and idk if you are planning on fixing the body damage but that is going to be expensive too.

yeah that rear fender you found would have to be cut and welded into position because its attached to the roof and under the doors. (right?) and then you need a rear bumper plus crash support and thats just what we can see from the outside from pictures.
i say no go for the price, MUCH MUCH better cars out there for the price

you should bring it to a mechanic to look at if you cant find anything. there could be damage that you could have missed because the wheel is still on.
