lost my key...how much??

I lost one set of my keys and i need to buy a new key so i have a spare just in case...how much do the dealers charge for a new key??

anyone know lol

Up here in Canada....I think it is somewhere around $60 for a new key.

i believe they are chipped so it would be anywhere from 40-80

Part #15824471 $43.91 retail, $25.03 cost. You will need to have it programmed though. Just start the car with your original key, turn it off, put the new key in and start the car.

Going to the dealership would be best to they can copy the cut of your existing key to the new key blank. They should do that free of charge. Make sure you do the programming I described and check that the key works before you leave the dealership.

my dodge stratus key was lost and it was chipped. i didnt go to the dealership, and they charged 150ish

ace hardware says they make them, so i went and it was 80$ and at the dealership here its 45$

You definately want to always have a spare in a safe place because if you lose them all you will have to get towed to the dealership and they will have to do a complete reprogram PLUS the keys which could total almost $200.

I actually lost my cobalt key and dealship charged....40ish

and then i found the key a week later when the snow melted rofl. i was drunk and they fell out my pocket and off my deck
