Low Fuel light with 2.3 gallons left?

I think they do it on purpose so that you can actually make it to a gas station before you run dry. I know on mine when my needle hits empty I can still go for like 50-75 km before I actually run out.

Yea most companies do that. Its called "dummy-proofing it".
They know that there are going to be people that run it to Empty very often, so they let you think your at empty before you really are.
Pretty smart if you ask me.

There could be something screwed up with the gauge. A buddy of mine has two saturns same year range, and the one is on E and has a gallon left and the other is on E and has a quater tank left.

The light comes on when your estimated fuel range reads you have XX amount of Miles left based on your current fuel economy.
Mine flashes LOW FUEL on the DIC with less than 60KM remaining in my fuel range. Also when my gas gauge reads Empty, I usually still have 6Liters - 7Liters of fuel left.
13 Gallons = 49 Liters

Just gotta know when your about to run out of gas! I found mine runs out of gas, when the needle is about 3/4 the way into the red circle, almost past the circle, but just touching the bottom edge

I guess that'd be why I've never seen mine come on I always fill up with about 50-60 miles left worth of gas! Here I was thinking GM was too cheap to put a low gas light in or that people finally got smart enough to actually fill their tanks up with gas when it got too low...
*sigh* it's things like low gas lights required on every car that make me deeply concerned for people nowadays...
