Talking Mods I will eventually get around too

I own a 2009 LS. I am debating on what mods to get around too first

-GMPP Intake
-GMPP cat-back performance exhaust
-FE5 shocks and struts
-Pedders springs
-SS bumpers
-Halo projector head lights
-LED tail lights
-Sound system
-Paint interior trim the color of the exterior (ink slate metallic 87u)
-Shorty antenna
And a lot more little stuff that I am probably forgetting

What do you think the best mods are? (In the list above and ones you have done yourself)
Should I spend money trying to make my 2.2 ecotec faster? Or spend the money on cosmetic things to make it look nicer?
Give me your opinions

Shorty antenna, cheap mod and very noticeable. With the mods you listed it looks like you're leaning more towards cosmetic.

I just ordered a shorty antenna from modern performance. It was 20 bucks.
I'm in the mood to spend some money what should I do next?

I'd check the classifieds section for parts too. Most of the mods I've put on my car have been purchased from members on this site.

BTW welcome.

Good list, but get the K&N intake over the GMPP one...

I would but I asked my dad about the K&N and he said no, He doesn't want me getting performance parts that aren't from the factory. He has this thing about keeping cars completely stock. (I don't get it) But that's why I am limited to GMPP parts because that is the only way he would let me get some parts. And I would much rather get the K&N intake and a DC sports cat back or megan racing.

That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

It's impossible to mod a car and keep it factory really, keeping stuff factory is for old cars. I do agree with the GMPP catback though, it's the best sounding one for the 2.2 imo. DC is ok, but the quality isn't great from what I've heard, and Megan is just way too loud. The GMPP intake is fine if you still have warranty, but if you don't have it anyways, might as well go for the K&N. GMPP is just too expensive.

anyways, you could always do what I did, and go to a swap meet and pic up a cheap sub and amp. You don't necessarily need to spend tons of money on a big new system. Just get a small, low power sub, that'll balance out your sound. IMO tons of bass is just pointless if you can't hear your highs.

Keeping the car factory is not my decision. That is all my dad. If it was up to me, my bank account would be empty due too all the sweet mods that are out there. As soon as I graduate college I get the car and I can do whatever I want to it. So I have another 4 years until that happens.

I'd definetly do suspension first. And IMHO stock black housing headlights look better than halos.

@Getaway_Driver

Not so much a spoiled teen. My dad has bought all of his kids base model cars/trucks that he can get a great deal on. We get the car as a graduation present when graduate college. We aren't supposed to mod the car what so ever until our names are on the title. So I don't consider myself spoiled.

I really want the suspension because I think it would make the most drastic change. When I got my window tint done about a year ago it was the first thing that I ever did to my car. I didn't even have a spoiler on it yet and the dark tint made a huge change in the look of my cobalt.

Save all the money you'd spend on modifying the LS and save as much as you can from whatever part-time job(s) you have and put it towards purchasing a nicer car when you get out of school. I guarantee you will be bored with the LS very quickly. Save up and buy something you really want versus something you are "stuck with".

I have thought about that too. I am still debating it.

Ignore the haters.. there is nothing wrong with the 2.2L cobalts.. just takes a little more time to do it right.

Plus when your done you don't have a big chip on your shoulder like your better than most people.... cough cough.

If your dad is not going to let you touch the car however.. i would just save your money like they have stated already.
