The RX-8 in auto is only like 170 hp. In manual they have the 250 or what ever it is. But The focus and the Celica are Really close as far as slaw cars go on that list. Being at the TC sez S/C, It shouldn't have that many votes. But the GT-S Celica is really more of a body kit'd Celica then anything. Focus and Celica are the 2 slowest def!

The RX-8's are not quick at all. I traded one in on the balt SS/SC, you could beat an rx8 off the line in a freakin minivan. they handle like there on rails but from a dig they have nothing. and mine was the six speed i couldnt imagine what the auto would be like. unless they changed alot in 07 they definitely arent quick at all. plus on a side note they run on premium and get like 13 mpg and thats not even driving that hard.

The upcoming focus RS (euro model only) is going to be a quick car, it would crush the ss/sc

the only 'high performance focus' out now is the ST model with the 2.3L mazda3 engine. I would take it off the list since I don't think anyone considers it a contendor in the sport compact market, except ford. Even though I believe they come in manual only and have 'sport guages' and 'sporty' 2 tone seats.
I guess it would be better to put SVT in there instead of the zx4.

the reason i picked the focus was becuase of the zx3 model...im not sure about the svt...but i heard it isn't hard to beat up on.
if the focus wasn't there, i'd say the si, type s, and the gt-s.

I've noticed that Car and Driver and Motor Trend and the like seem to have "preferences" for certain cars...like the aerticle I read comparing the performace of an RSX type S to the SS/SC and the RSX won even though it was slower and didn't handle as well. They said the RSX was more refined or soemthing, I can't remember I'd have to find the article. And let's not forget Motor Trends 2006 Truck, I mean, Car of the Year the Honda Ridgeline.....

I find it funny you picked the cars that are actually moderately quick while there are a ton of **** slow compact cars that weren't mentioned.
Why is the RSX Type-S on this list?

Mine is the easiest to beat!!!!!!
2.4 Auto Ss Ftl
agreed
the K20z1 responds way too well to mods. i heard guys running high 13s very low 14s with intake/header/exhaust mods on clubrsx.com
i/e/h/k-pro..makes it like a mid 13sec car w/ a good driver. For a 2.0 litre N/A motor thats freaking awesome
the fastest standing time for an N/A street driven Rsx is in the low 12s i think

No doubt the Focus is the slowest , which was really to bad . The SVT's outside power figures was a pretty cool package . The last few Sonic Blue or Orange ones with the multispoke graphite wheels looked sweet in and out .....bad bad Ford for not giving them euro ST power .

The only ones on that list that even stand a chance against me are the RX-8 and the Eclipse (if it's a newer model and a GT model with the 3.8L engine). Other wise my Equinox pretty much rocks
Current mods:
Larger injectors, aftermarket underdrive pulleys, cat-back custom exhaust, airbox mod (soon to be universal CAI once I find one that fits correctly), a custom tune, and weight reduction of about 700lbs. I usually run with Mustang's (not the GT versions unless they're poorly maintained or the idiot can't drive). I'm finding it hard to find the right vehicle that's comparable to mine. Almost anything with a 4cyl (base cobalts, civics, scions, etc
There have been a select few mod'd Eclipse's (turbo) and Celica's that have been able to keep up or win by a 1/2 car length or so. But it's difficult to fit into a class, either most are too slow or too fast...Not many V6 racers?

ive raced a few of these, scion tc was owned hands down, civic si was owned (3 car lengths) acura rsx type-s beat me by a car length or 2, focus are cheap and trash, ive raced 2, the coupe hatch and a sedan and both lost by about 5 car lengths, rx-8 i raced one stock, the guy just bought it and didnt really know how to drive it and still beat me by 2 - 3 lengths, and the eclipse gts, i beat by just under a car length (closest race i ever had)

Amazing there isn't more votes for the GTi, those things are ***** slow and disgustingly heavy. Also not sure what Eclipse GT-S you're refering to, but the new body style V6 are easily 13 second cars, so I don't see how that even made the list, much less got any votes.
The biggest question is, why isn't the Mustang GT on this list? Easiest and most importantly best kill ever because the drivers are so cocky and yet their cars are slower than most V6 family sedans. Granted it's not a "sport compact" but neither is a ZX3 Focus (econo box) or a new Eclipse (expensive "sports" car).
