Those are some massively painful pictures and I feel really bad for your cars getting hydro locked. I hate the fact that the cai is right in the wheel well. You can't even see it to clean it without taking your wheel off and then the damn wheel well cover which is a pain in the ass. I guess the toyota you speak of is built like most japanese cars and don't put the air intake 4 inches off the ground.

In my opinion, i think it is just good practice that when you park your car, you should make sure your not in the middle of a river... just saying... I drove through a deep spot in a road but it only covered about half my tire.

I'm pretty sure those rivers weren't there when we parked it. Believe me, when I came out of my hotel and saw my Cobalt sitting there, I was cussing myself out for not driving my Jeep that weekend. The water wouldn't have even gotten to the axle on my Jeep!

I bought a cd player off ebay, didn't want to have to hook up a scan II tool to it so i opened them both up and swapped out the actual cd player piece inside the radio (i think it's only like 4 screws and a couple ribbon cables if i remember correctly).

At the time I replaced headlights and that piece of the cd player. The headlights have since been cleaned, painted and reinstalled.

The only other flood related issue is that my throw-out bearing is loud, but it's been that way for almost a year now and it just keeps on goin ;-).

wow just saw this thread and figure i might contribute. My SS got turned off on me while i was crossing the street. Nothing happened to the engine, but as i waited for a tow the water got higher and flooded the interior. Two injectors failed and the interior got flooded that's about it. At the same time my boyfriend was down the street from his house when a truck passed him, made a big wave and his car sucked up all the water. Threw a rod that night, and to make it worse the car flooded over night as it sat in the driveway. .
We already got the SS back but we are still waiting for the TL. One of your friends woke up and went down to his garage to find his '07 Civic SI under water. The water got pass the dash so it was totaled out. The insurance took so long to go look at it that when they did the interior was covered in mold. It was sad since he babied his car and had very little miles on it.

it was nowhere near that high at the time. Also i had to get out of the area since the area i was orinaly at turns into a lake. Far worse than the op with his car under water.
