need help with tensioner

Hey guys I have a 2.85 puley on my car right now and just want to know a couple of things, b4 I try and put the 2.7 on

1. Does the suprcharger need to come off just to change the pulley it is going on the same hub style.
2. How do I work the tensioner
3. Is it as easy as releasing tension on the belt undoing the 5 hex screws and slapping on the other pulley.

Thanks

bump for needing a response

How do you "pull" on the tensioner nut? You don't loosen it?

if the pulley you have matches the hub that is currently on the blower then there is no need to remove the blower from the car to remove/change the pulley.

1. take your tool for the bolts that hold the pulley on and with the belt still on loosen up the bolts just a little bit.

2. take a 15mm open end wrench and place the open end part on the little black square nub on the back of the tensioner pulley.
2a. simultaneously press down on the wrench and push towards the firewall to relax tension on the belt and to remove the belt.

3. remove the pulley bolts the rest of the way and install your new pulley. tighten up the pulley bolts so they are snug and the pulley is sitting flush on the hub.

4. repeat step 2 and 2a but in reverse to re-install the belt.

5. once the belt is back on you can snug the bolts on the pulley a little bit more. try to make sure that they are torqued on there equally and not too much or you will be cursing when its time to change pulleys again as you will have a hard time getting it off again.

6. enjoy more boost.
