New transmission on the way!

I blew my transmission what feels for ever ago, I couldn't find one for the longest time. If I did it was as much as the car was worth. I finally found the best deal at performanceautowerks.com! They start out at $1750 and offer performance upgrades even a 6 speed. I can't wait for my transmission to come in... I miss my Balt so much! Just thought I'd let you guys know of the good deal.

Pwerks will treat you right, but Powell does good also. Surprised you got one for $1700 from pwerks without a good core. Was your trans salvageable as a core?

Core hasn't been evaluated yet.
It's $1750 with a proper core, but I've been told I should get atleast half back on my core.

How's the 4.45? I got 4.05 and was wondering about how shift points would change on a 4.45.

Shift points are great, pulls a lot of RPM on the highway, but that's fine. Thing I liked the most about the change is the increased RPM at my usual cruising speeds, which also increased my fuel mileage. Thing also pulls like a **** when you step on it. Definitely worth the time and money to source the gears and have them installed.

I've always been a fan of upping the final drive ratio - what other mod will get you almost 10% more power down to the wheels across the entire powerband, without affecting anything else?
