Options and the Chevy Cobalt

I'm definitely buying a Chevrolet Cobalt in the coming months just to get that out of the way. But I think that Chevy should have more options with this new car.

First and foremost, there are gonna be TONS of people that want the SS in automatic. I, myself, have owned 2 manual cars(92 Camaro and a 98 Grand Prix), and would actually like the SS in auto. My current car is an automatic and it's just not as fun driving a stick as it was in my teens(i'm only in my mid 20's but still).

The Sport Package on the LS looks great but what if I only want certain features of the Sports Package. I could be wrong but it doesn't appear that you can choose certain features from it. I'm not a fan of spoilers at all(and would like the SS without that giant spoiler as well) but would want all the other features of the Sport Package. Could I do that? Perhaps. It just doesn't look that way right now.

It looks as though i'm going to have to get the LS/automatic Coupe with no sports package and then have to do a lot of customization. I want the SS features with an auto and no spoiler but it's gonna take a good amount of effort to convert the LS to an SS. Oh well. I just hope I can get all the SS decals/labels to make a full conversion(at least from an image standpoint).

the reason they are only offereing it in manual, is to increase it's reputation - manual cars arre quicker than autos, and if someone in X car beats an auto SS, they start telling their friends that it is slower than theirs, and word spreads.

now take that same situation, but make the SS 5spd. X car gets beat, he tells people that it is a fast car(in theory at least; most likely he'll be a dick and make up some ****), word spreads, the car's reputation is increased, more 16 year olds bug their mommies and daddies to buy them one.

LMAO

I wish my mom both me a car, but anyways, I am sure they will have an auto for 06, and you can always remove the wing and sell it if you really don’t like it

BDW, welcome to the site

I can't remember correctly but from what I remember you can order SOME of the sport packages options separately... like wheels and gauges anyways.

yeah i've never been a fan of leather either...you slide all around in your seat...leather cracks and gets wrinkly....gets too hot/too cold....if its hot and you sweat, you stick to your seat....

I love leather, it's soft and comfortable and also viewed as a premium material. And, no matter how much you slide in and out, you don't get sparked everytime you grab your damn door handle :x . Heated leather seats will definitely be good for winter.

See thats what i don't get....how people view it as a premium material??? other than the other reasons you listed, you're basically saying that you want it because other people want it

i think its funny when i get shocked opening my door..i say dammit and then laugh

Other materials are soft and comfortable too

True, some cloth seats are nice, but I just find leather to be more comfortable and attractive. I definitely think that leather makes an interior look better. I can't really explain why, I just really like leather, maybe it's the smell I dunno.

I wish that GM used the same leather/suede combo in the Cobalt that they did in the new Malibu. Those seats are very nice.

I'd like to see the same type of seats as the 350Z. I was looking at one the other day; very nice. I don't know what the material is, but It's got a very sporty/sexy look to it, yet at the same time it's very classy looking.

Oh yeah, with the mesh in the middle that is pretty cool. Vented seats would be nice, or at least perforated leather on the inserts, but I dont think that the Cobalt has that.
