The Original Garrett Turbo Cobalt - Engineering Development Mule Car on ebay

(Also posted in the Forced Induction Forum...maybe this is a better place.)

Hi,

I joined this site years ago but haven't posted until now. Just remembered that I even had an account! I'd like to preface my post by saying I'm not a spammer and just want to share the fact that the original Garrett Turbo Cobalt, the one used by Garrett to develop their complete turbo kit for the 2.2L L61 engine, is now on ebay. I have listed it there for the owner, who bought it from Garrett / Honeywell after kit testing was complete. It has less than 20,000 original miles. Per the classifieds rules I can't post there because I have less than 5 postings on the forum, hence why I'm sharing the link here.

Here's the link to the ebay auction:
Chevrolet : Cobalt Turbo by Garrett Coupe, Development Mule | eBay

And it was written up by DailyTurismo.com prior to the auction going live:
Daily Turismo: Sport Compact Sleeper: The Garrett Turbo 2005 Chevy Cobalt

Sorry if this is the wrong place to do this, just thought you guys might be interested! Feel free to ask me any questions about the car. This thing has a cool history.

Yes, but when the car was tested at the drag strip it was on street tires, with novice drivers behind the wheel...that is the story I've heard. I would think that controlling wheel hop would be good for 1 or 2 seconds off that time. I'm no Cobalt expert but I'm sure this car could easily be made faster with some chassis tuning. Keep in mind the car is only running 12psi as well, so the next owner could easily turn up the boost and get more power out of it.

I forgot to add that the LACR drag strip where the car was tested was a fairly high-elevation track, at 2710 ft. It was in Palmdale which is in the high desert area northeast of LA. So at sea level it would've definitely done better.

Apparently I'm just proving the old stereotype that drag racing is all about excuses!
