OTTP Harness bar (feeler)

If OTTP made a harness bar for our cars would you consider buying one?

I know most people will say it depends on the price..well if you look up harness bars for other cars made by Sparco or AMS they start at around $330 and go up to $430. Do NOT post up the link to that Cobalt Addiction POS bar...its garbage.

Something similar to this.

I think you are misunderstanding the concept...

That is probably only about 10% of the weight of an entire 6 point roll cage..

They serve a different purpose. Some people dont need to spend the 1500 bucks for a complete roll cage, when they just want to use aftermarket seats.

Have you really looked into how much it cost and all the work it takes to really put in a cage that is fully functional?...and not one of those bolt in one size fits most crap.

I would take one in a second if i didn't already build a roll cage, with harness bar.

That AMS bar is the ****, same with there other products

The problem i see here is that not many people with cobalts run harnesses, you cant really run them with the stock seats either.

I actually emailed OTTP a month back asking/telling them to make one since so many SS owners track their car and theres none available. $400 is pretty average price for a sparco one so if its near that price I'm 100% in for buying one.

I also requested a common bar size or if they could make camps, attachments for camera and fire extinguisher.

I dont run a harness because nobody makes a harness bar. Also our cars don't come from the factory with seats that have holes for them. But as our cars are getting older it seams that more and more are being turned into track cars and what a great time to put in a race seat and to match it up with a harness bar and harnesses.

Some company will eventually jump on this and be the first to produce a great bar for our car...why not have it be OTTP.

well I was going to get one for my ms3, just to run a camera. But at $430 it was slightly pricey. Now that I'm getting more into racing I'd consider a new seat too so getting this well before the seat imo isnt a bad idea either. But lots of people get them to run a harness on stock seats as well. Another thing is that if you run scca and time attack, the cage puts you in a different class, not sure on a harness bar but you may be able to stay in street or stock.

the other good thing is since the cobalt didnt change inside, 1 harness bar should fit all year cobalt model coupes. Not sure on if it would fit the sedan though.

I wouldn't, i rather purchas a 6 or 10 point cage. its safer.
i was told by many local racers around her, do NOT run a harness if you dont have a head loop, because the harness is ment to hold you up right so if you roll the roof could crush down on your head...
plus a certified 10 point cage is only 559.99 USD from what i seen so far

Link to this info?

That must be just for the tubing...no way that price would include design, prep, install, welding, painting, etc...

A pre-made cage? hell no I wouldnt touch that

1. with a harness bar most people arent running a serious (non street driven) track car.
2. a roll cage puts you in a much higher class as its required for higher classes
3. a roll cage will cost you well over 1k. They are not fun to install and you lose the back seat.

Seats usually do work. I dont understand your point. having sex in a uncomfortable front car seat is more important than a harness bar that can easily be removed if need be? Obviously you are a cobalt **** star of some sort and are not anywhere near the market of what ottp parts or harness bar is looking for.
