Paint Chip fix
I know there are like one millllioooonnnn of these threads, but here's my idea.
First of all I got a few rock chips on my hood.
Laser Blue BTW, only a month old so the paint hasn't faded.
Now the reason why "i" think it's different from other attempts is that
A) I'm also using clear
B) No paint fading(New car)
C) I'm going to use rubbing compound in the surrounding area.
I got free touch up paint and free clear coat from my dealer. I'm going to apply the touch up paint in coats, letting it dry in between until it looks just about level with the car. Then I'll add the clearcoat. After a few coats of clear I'm going to use a mild rubbing compound in the surrounding area.
Now since it's a new car with no real fading of paint yet I think I can come out with a near factory job, maybe even completly invisable to me.
Wish me luck! I'll let you know how it works out

Cars dont fade until after like 5 years lol
Just take some touchup paint build it up until it is above the paint line, then wetsand it w/ 1500-2000 grit then buff smooth
