I work for a car rental company, and we actually got an '07 SS black/auto in the fleet this week. Not bad, but I'll keep my SS/SC, and the only changes I noticed between this and an '06 I looked at were the stereo head unit and the steering wheel controls. Cruise and DIC on the left arm, and stereo controls on the right.

That steering wheel looks bigger...and ugly IMO...but the radio looks cool...I wouldn't use it though, I like my Pioneer HU better.

Those wheels are ugly as well...my stock 16's look wayyyy nicer than those.

Glad I have an 06 instead!

To answer a few questions that havent been answered yet . All the prior Cobalt models that had silver bezels and silver radios and hvac , STILL have it . I have seen in person a 07 SS and all the bezels and the radio were bright silver like always . Those pics are of the base car that used the gunmetal trim like they always have . Pontiac is only only one to get the Carbon fiber looking trim and Pontiac does Not get the Silver .

I highly doubt the 2007 head unit will swap to a 05-06 . 2005-2006 radios are made by delphi and the 2007 radios are made by Fujitsu . The plugs on the back are not the same . So , youd have to hack your wiring harness to even see if it "might" power up . Plus the fact that they made the remote start avail. for the 2007 , along with the new radio and new steering wheel that alot the other cars have had for awhile now , tells me the BCM is not the same as 05-or 06 and the interior harness is not the same either . To bad its not like the old days , new GM electronics can get pretty complicated .

One other cool thing about the radio , is you can get music downloads . On one of the 07 stickers I saw it said something about a media package . Which included a full 12 months of XM for free , and unlimited media downloads . I assume thats thru XM ?!?!

The 07 radios will in fact not work in previous models because the connectors are different. As stated in a previous post these radios are made by fujitsu(which are making most of GM's radios now). The radios that are available are AM/FM/CD in black only, AM/FM/CD/MP3 in black and grey, as well as a AM/FM/6CD/MP3 in black and grey also.
The steering wheel radio control switches are available if you have the leather steering wheel(RPO code N34).

I didnt think the new radio would work in an older model. The new radio also had the information center in it, previous to 07 it is in the dash, with 07 the information like temp and such are in the radio head unit.

....I think you'd be surprised at how badly you will actually get screwed trying to trade off a car within the first year .

Maybe not from the factory, but you can definetly get it aftermarket from a car audio place legally too....

Just keep yours....deal with the radio you have and buy an aftermarket remote start for a few hundred bucks installed...

Am I the only one who doesn't like the new wheels? I like how straight the lines are on 16's.

clarifying edit: The 16's on the '05 and '06 year. But you probably knew what I meant.

I personaly don't like the black radio & hvac controls with the silver accent! It doesn't flow good, like the past cobalts did (i liked the all silver look)

The radio comes in silver trim on the SS S/C.

It is black/carbon fiber trim in the G5 GT.

Here is the new radio which I really liked. Notice the AUX input in the lower right corner for your Ipod:

trying to be the scion TC with the button config, which is cool because the tc interior makes ous look like a military issue humvee... the steering wheel on the other hand, i like hte shape, but no radio controlls= gaysauce

Thanks! I was just checking the chevy website (USA), and noticed that picture! I guess i should have searched before i posted! Ugggg
Anyways, also on the chevy (usa) site it also says that white faced gauges are standard on the SS models (but the picture posted above does not show that).

But the chevy (USA) site is nice, i even like the idea of the factory selling the intake for the non SS/SC cobalts!

The white gauges are standard on the SS, and the ones you see in the pic are standard on the SS Supercharged.

Exactly! I'd be perfectly happy w/ my stock radio if it just had an input slot!!
