Agreed. Not a fan of the new steering wheel at all, but I do like the rest of the changes.

If I can get ahold of one of those 07 radios, I'll take a week making a wiring harness to convert it to work on the 05-06's

Hopefully the 07 wiring diagrams will be available soon . The dealer may be able to print it out now . I cant say as fact because I havent got around to looking my radio harness yet , but Ive heard the Cobalt head unit for 05-06's do not use the normal GM lan type wiring . Does a serial data line power out head units now ? Or is it a normal 12v switched and 12 constant . If the latter is true , I dont see how we would power up this head unit . All the other GM cars that use this radio get their switched power from a pcm signal and not a switched 12v .

I hope they kept the electronics simple , I really wannna use this radio too .

I wish i have an 06 and it has the same radio as the 05's do, mine is only an ls tho so maby higher models have the newer radio??? That answers my question the other night when i seen a balt with the new steering wheel i didnt know that they were changing if for 07.

well my dealership in town (Cambridge, ON) just got thier 07 cobalt in (must have just got there, as the antena was not even hooked up, and it it was covered in stickers and plastics on the outside.
Well it was a yellow SS/SC with yellow inserts. I must say it was my first time i have seen the yellow inserts, and it acually was not bad (i thought the bright yellow on the black interior would be hard on the eyes). Also the new radio does look very nice and sleek. And the steering wheel does suit the car.
Another hot car (model year)! *two thumbs up**

i was reading MT and they said the 07 cobalts all got minor power boosts. 2.2 was 148, but i cant remember the other two. but since they print so far in advance for the mags these days was that something that got left off?

I actually like my steering wheel better. But I really wish I had the aux input for my iPod.

They make a device for iPod's that you just plug it into your ipod and tune your radio to a certain station and it broadcasts your music through the radio. id rather pay the 40-50 for that than buy a whole new radio. personally i am going to stick with my 06 unless there are any major changes i dont know about on the body... radio though,... i can live with it how it is
