Pros outweigh cons? Tint Legal vs 20%
Hey guys I just got my LS 4dr tinted 40% all around (reads 36% on tint meter rather than 35% reading 31% on the meter) and i HATE IT!!!!!!!!! My last car had 35% and 15% on the back window plus black interior and it was much darker. My buddy has 20% on his 2009 Toyota Avalon and I really wish I went that dark.
Problem is that I live in Massachusetts, legal is 35% all the way around. I work at a dealership so the sticker isnt the issue, problem that im worried after having a beer or two with dinner on a friday night that Ill get nabbed for it on the way home and get screwed (just an example).
So my question is almost retorical but I just want to see what other people do....For you guys sporting Illegal window tint, is it worth it? Id love to go 20% around but just dont want to end up getting stopped for it and from the people i know that have it they all claim to have never had a problem.

I hate u for full tint and being able to drink with meal.
They just brought in a .05 law here. There goes going for a drink. I think I'd blow that after using listorine.

Not sure if this is true or not, but I have heard from a few different people if you go to the eye doctor and say the sun bothers your eyes even with sunglasses they can write you a prescription for window tint to show the cops if you get pulled over for it

5 percent all around from previous owner. Nights are a bitch to back up with it but it looks sick in the day and hids , even on hi beams look like a dim flashlight in the rear view.

I used to have 5% all the way around. Front window legal limit here is 40%. I used to get stopped all the time, but I was a cop so they always let me go. Now that I left the department, I took my tint off.
I'm going to leave it off for a while until I decide if I want to just take my chances with 20% or just keep it off for good. I mean, I mostly roll around with my windows down and sunroof open anyway so the tint is really only good to stop people from peeping into my windows when I park.

Illinois just passed the law. Can do 35% all around including front passenger and driver sides. Before could do nothing on them and as dark as you wanted in the back and rear windshield.
Debating doing 30% all around and pressing my luck...

The answer would honestly depend on how the cops are in your area. In my hometown cops look for anything to pull you over. But in Blacksburg cops don't give a damn. So that would be the deciding factor for me.

It's always been a 24 hour suspension for .05 here, this new law will just make it a 3 day one, and getting caught at that .05-.08 range more than once will probably result in stiffer punishments now, but .05 has always been illegal, but never criminalized, and it will continue to be illegal, but not criminal, also keep in mind this new law doesn't take effect immediately, it will be some while still
