on my mustang i had 5% all the way around, and 35% on windshield... i had cops stare at me all the time. 1 cop mention it, but nothing other than that... just a lot of attention from cops when you go that dark
i was planning on doing it to the cobalt, bought the tint and everything, but never did end up putting it on. didnt want every cop on the block staring at me.

In any case, it seems like most of the state is fine with it.
Except for Chicago.
They aren't recognizing it as law, and are still giving tickets out left and right, after raising the ticket from like $65 to $200. Which isn't sketch at all.
I haven't had any trouble, but I know some people who have. Just seem hit or miss while in the city.

20% on sides 15% on back on my old car. Drove for years in my teens was pulled over quite a bit and never had tint mentioned. Make sure to roll your windows down before the cop comes to your door though. Dark tint is a safety factor for them, as in they do not like approaching a car that's hard to see into.

got some black seat covers and it actually mad somewhat of a difference, at night seeing through the tint is basically because the seats were always a light color now being darker the tint seems darker because aside from the dash and floor there isnt anything that you can really see.
