you shouldnt have to do anything but plug them into the headlight harness connect the ballast and be done with it...maybe run your relay if you choose to.

run the relay or your lights will most likely flicker. also is there not a fuse inline with the power line? thats how mine is. but again i get my power through my relay harness.

some people get lucky without the relay, some people get flickering. instead of guessing i just put the relay in.

ok guys here is all the facts im hoping someone can help i got 2 HID kits one for the headlights one for the fogs? Both kits they sent me are H1, they are marked on the box and the plastic case around the light. Now will H1's give me Low and High beams or are the H1's a single beam kit? I am new to all this car moding. Also what is a relay? Everyone says i should add one? i will post a pic of what my HID kit looks like.

well i called jm auto racing and they said i can use the H1 HID kit for the headlights since i bought Gen 3 black projectors one kit will be per headlights so ill have 2 bulbs and 2 ballast per side. they are also sending me an H11 fog light kit plue one pair of relay harnesses and a capacitor. they said all i needed was a capacitor for the bulb i wanna designate for the DRLs. Hopefully all this works. i gonna have a total of 6 ballasts in my car holy poo!

The hell? Never heard of anyone using capacitors on HID kits. Also why two bulbs/ballasts for each side? You gonna run HID high beams too?

What year is your car? If it's 05-06 your DRLs don't affect the headlights, if it's 07+ you can just pull the DRL fuse and keep the DRLs off. But if you use a relay harness it doesn't matter if the DRLs are active or not since the relay will still trip at the lower voltage. I personally have my fuse pulled cause I don't want my HIDs running constantly while the car is on.

if for some reason you are required to run DRLs for some reason i hope that works, but most peple jsut pull the fuse for the DRLs and then theres no problem

Well they also said I should wire the halos and LEDS to the parking lights and since those are always on I guess that **** will be lite all the time. Sry I'm a noob to all this stuff I have no idea what all this means. Maybe ill have DLRs maybe not. All I know from what the say is ill have 2 bulbs/ballast per headlight connected to a relay harness and the bulb that goes into the projector lens will have a capacitor between the bulb and ballast. They said the fogs will use H11 and thats just plug and play. Hoping they are right.

Your parking lights will only be on at night when it's dark, unless you manually turn them on during the day. You can splice in the wires for the halos and LEDs to the parking lights and they'll come on with them, or you can wire them up through a standalone switch and turn them on whenever you want. as for the DRL thing, as long as you're using a relay harness on the low beams your DRLs will still operate. Whether you decide to pull the DRL fuse is your call. I still feel uneasy about this capacitor they're telling you to put in though, I've never heard of anyone else doing this nor do I understand the need for it. A relay harness is all you need to properly install a set of HIDs.

should have a separate harness for each hid kit, otherwise they both would be on when you only turn one of them on

They said it is going to help the hid kit with power and I won't flicker at all. They said I didn't need a relay if I was gonna put the capacitor in. But everyone is telling me to put one in no matter what. Will ill let you guys know if it goes wrong or something doesnt work. I'm hoping after I put in everything there will be no problem what so ever plus also look awesome I got 6k in all the hid kits so everything will match nicely. Also the gen 3 black projectors look.....amazing!

They said each headlight will have its own relay. But both low beam and high beam will be on the relay.

ok guys i got further insite on all this. I went to the top. they said since i will be running 2 bulbs/ 2 ballasts per headlight this is how my setup will work. On both Bulbs that i designate High beams i will play a capacitor on. and both bulbs that are going to be my normal DRL and normal headlights will get the Relay harness. Let me know if you guys think this is right!!
