Questions about intake for SS/SC
Hey everyone,
Will an aftermarket intake for the SS/SC make the car lose that low end punch? I have had experiences with putting short ram intakes on civics and it makes the almost non-existent low end power even more non-existent.
Also any recommendations on which one is best?
Thanks

no...it'll help ur low end...........and i don't believe there is any short rams for the ss/sc that aren't custom..most are CAI's....but u wont lose low end and u can actually hear your s/c whine if you put one on, lol....which is something u cant hear from factory...the CAI's force feed cooler air into the S/C which is helping your boost build quicker helping ur low end.........

the stock airbox is actually a dumbed down type cai with heat absorbing plastics and a big restrictive box with a small top end opening. Your low end would only benefit from the addition of a less restrictive air intake ability and cooler intake temps. If s short ram was added your low end would really benefit but your top end would be easily reduced.

i think turbo tech posts them. To be honest after dyno charts showed up people quickly found out how restrictive the intake is stock. I dont know about 17 hp but it is at the very least 10hp throughout

it isn't the exact same thing at all. Granted it looks better than the aem until someone runs on a dyno after installing that thing I doubt its design and materials will match many of the current offerings.
