First off, I'm a stock LAP with 27k. So today i was on my way home from the gym and came up to a light that just turned red. Other cars started stopping by me so i turned down my radio. Then i noticed my speedometer went up to 120 and my tach went up to redline. this whole time i was in neutral and didn't hear my engine rev up. my speedometer then went back to zero and my tach went back to idle. i gave some gas to inch forward and my tach went to zero without going up at all (stalled out on its own)

so i start it back up, without any check engine lights, and kinda did a hard launch because i was holding up traffic. As is went it heard what sounded light a 5 sec. dial tone.

A/C was off
in neutral
Gauge movement
random stall
no drivability issues

anyone have this problem? what should i check? fluke?

Sounds electrical

a wire could have grounded out some where in IP or crossed wires...

This is very odd...possibly just a random fluke

When you tach was rising, the engine was off at the time or was it at normal idle, or was it actually reving the engine? that is the only thing I am confuses about...i have never heard of this so I don't really know what to say other than electrical(ecu - ip cluster) any where in there

thats sounds weird. i had a problem once where i shifted and my mphs went up to like a 100 and my rpms were as if i were in neutral, then they went back to normal as i kept accelerating in that gear.

I had mine stall out once (Because Im new to manuals) and then it refused to start... then whe it FINNALY DID start, all the gauges read 0. Odd....

I'm guessing it was off when they went up. I thouht my car was still on b/c the tach went back to idle but when I tapped the gas it went to 0. My engine did not rev up when the tach went to red line, so maybe it was already off
