Recommended gas compnaies to buy from

http://toptiergas.com/

The top four auto manufacturers (Honda, BMW, GM, Toyota) came together to find out which gas companies produce the best gasolines. What they mean is, the best additives to their fuel, which creates the least amount of deposits in your engine over time. I will list them here, but go to the site anyways. It explains the reasoning for the recommendations.

TOP TIER Gasoline Retailers:

QuikTrip
Chevron
Conoco
Phillips
76
Shell
Entec Stations
MFA Oil Company
Kwik Trip/Kwik Star
The Somerset Refinery, Inc.

I used Mobil and Shell pretty much exclusively. When I was in Michigan I used Sunoco since you could get the 94oct. I guess maybe Ill switch to Shell and Chevron. Although I will say that if they had Sunoco here in AZ and I could get 93 or 94oct from them I would go there. Im pretty shocked actually that Mobil is not on that list.

Im also curious as well, does Chevron being on the list include Texaco and Caltex ?

Damn, that sucks. I am usually stuck with Circle K or 7-Eleven. I think I should go out of my way for Chevron then.

I don't know..Maybe it would say in the article. I find QT to be good. I also like Shell V-Power gas. BTW, you won't see 94 octane on the west side of the country. It's 91 or (if you can find some) 100 octane race gas. Which I believe Sunoco sells in our area.

venedian--circle K sells 76 gas I believe. So, you're fine.

The only thing I think is a little strange to me is... I wonder if this stuff is all for publicity.. because Ive heard about the top tier stuff on TV and Radio... Reason I say that is I used to drive by a gasoline holding facility (dont know what its supposed to be called... a bunch of huge metal containers filled with gasoline where the truck go to fill up so they can deliver it to the stations) all the time and I would see 76, Mobil, Chevron, Texaco, and just about every other truck you could think of coming in and out of there... I wonder if they all use the same stuff anyways ? Who knows.... I just try and use what I feel like my car likes best... they why I always used to use sunoco... the SVTF loved that stuff... You could absolutely tell a difference.

Yea, I think they all get their gas from the same refinery, but they may add their own additives at another location?

i dunno if a gas station itself would have the type of refining capabilities as an actual plant but maybe they add the lil extra's there ... next time I see a gas trucker I will see if he knows the score

I've always gone to Petro for the last 4 years and since I have the 0.20/litre card for the next year I'm not going to be changing anytime soon. I found with my Cavy that once I switched over to Petro I no longer noticed the egg smell which the service department tried to clear up a number of times.

I usually use BP or Speedway

yeah quick trip is probably the best. all their locations around here are fairly new. the pumps and stores are always clean and the employies are respectfull. I always bought from QT untill i got too lazy to pay inside, so now i use my mom's shell car. Intrest on it is like 2% because she has been a member longer than i have been alive. yeah, yeah my parents pay for my gas... as long as i stay in school.
