Returning from deployment soon, car hasnt been started
Ill be returning from deployment soon and my wife hasn't started my car because the battery died and she didnt think it would hurt it. I just found this out. Other than draining my fuel tank and changing the oil what else should i do? Haven't really had this problem before since my last deployment I left the car at a storage unit that starts the cars and drives them around their parking lot periodically, also should i change the oil immediately before starting it or start it first then change the oil?

Okay, should i change the oil first then start it or start it with old oil then drive around to warm up the oil like with a routine change. I figured draining the fuel tank wouldn't be a bad idea since i only left maybe 3/8ths tank in it and it could have condensation or gelling.

So about 5 months now.. That's not too terrible. Mine sat without starting for about four months after the turbo blew and I lost all interest in the car. I had no problems. I would definitely change the oil first though. Hopefully fuel pump or filter isn't clogged at all

Okay thanks for the info guys, probably just change the oil fill it up with gas tanks and add some fuel stabilizer. I'm still not clear if i should start the car with the old oil in it or change it before attempting to start though? Which way would be better?

I have tinted tails I usually just swap them out with stock before I go in. Gotta fix reverse lights, hopefully my window tint passes, and i gotta fix my license plate light. Havent been able to figure out why that doesnt work for a year and a half now.

HEY ! A large THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE! you rock! Thank YOU.
I would be sure all fluids levels are where they should be.
Just start up w/ new battery and don't rev it!
warm up slow at idle- so oil will circulate to distant areas.
drive it easy until you get fresh fluids' replaced . use hi quality fluids. you'll be fine.
