SC or TC
heres the question! would it be worth it to sell my 07 SS/SC Stage 2 cai megan racing exhaust for an 09 tc. or would it be better to take the money you were going to spend on the new car and put into the sc possibly creating more power than the tc could create. possibly or no. jw which car has more potential. i know alot of people are going to upgrade. just wondering what they had in mind for their new car.

Yeah, The SS/TC is going to have way more potential then our SS/SC's can.... It depends on the whole $$ situation... Depends on how much you'll get for your SS/SC if you are planning on trading it in for the SS/TC (I'm assuming so) Yeah I'd put that money into the SS/TC personally... I'm thinking of getting a SS/TC when My SS/SC's lease ends in 10 months... If I can't get a Solstice Coupe GXP....

#1 What kind of hp are you looking to make?
You've still got a long ways to go yet on that SC.
#2 How are you going to get rid of your SC?
Trade In = $$ Death
Private Sale = Less/No $$ Loss (depending on what circumstances you bought your SC)
#3 How much do you care about what is available on the new SS/T?
If you want a Reconfigurable Performance Display, Bigger/Better Stock Clutch, Adjustable Suspension, and No Lift Shift, then you have to go for the SS/T.

Haz l33t wheelz.
also, turbo's make power differently than superchargers, it's just what kind of power you're looking for. i personally like my extremely flat powerband.
thanks man! supercharger whine FTW!

Forced Induction 101: Superchargers use engine power, Turbos don't. The SS/SC probably loses 20+ HP spinning the blower. If you replaced the blower with a turbo and ran the same boost, you would get that extra 20+ HP at the wheels.
But the blower usually gives more boost at low RPM and has that great sound.
To me the bottom line is money. I am amazed at how many ppl here are considering getting rid of (for example) an '07 SS/SC to buy an '08; that can easliy end up a financial disaster. Most people didn't have a huge downpayment or trade so they are way into negative equity on the SS/SC and will end up throwing away a ton of money to get the newer car.
The first thing I'd do is get to a dealership and run the numbers. For most of us, the loan for the new car + pay off (neg equity) on the SS/SC would be outrageous.
I HATE paying interest and making some millionaire ******* richer!

For the Solstice GXP/Sky RL, the aftermarket industry has gotten a few mods out there for the LNF... It's still a new engine, and even though it's only been available with the above mentioned for the last two years, more and more vendors are offerring mods for it. I'm a member of solsticeforum.com, and so far what's mostly offered are mostly bolt-ons, cat back exhausts, high flow cats, down pipes, intercoolers, but there is a ECU tune available for the Solstice GXP that gives 60-80hp+, and there are also turbo swap kits to switch to bigger turbos like a Mitsu 16, 20g, and GT3067R, GT420R turbos... etc...
I'm planning on switching to a Solstice GXP personally, but give it another year or two and there will be mods for the LNF on the Cobalt SS/TC
I just hope the Cruze gets the LNF...
