Seats

So I am more than most likely going to look at some seats and other parts today and was just looking to you guys to see if you like the cobalt ss seats or if I should go with some other seats that may fit. It will be a weekend warrior car and I don't want to pay top dollar for racing seats and i want the comfort of daily driver seats.

can't speak for the lnf seats, but the ss leather are nicer than base/cloth seats despite sliding around in hard cornering. I love my recaro seats thpugh. I have black lsj seats for sale. fronts only.

I love my recaros, by comparison the Ss sc leather seats are plain garbage. Hard to find a clean set these days though

The regular leather ss seats are the same as the base model seats. Only difference is the cover. I swapped to recaros and they ended up making my bad issues worse.

Agreed. Slippery, they don't hold you during turns, etc.

Only thing they had going was the heated part, but I swapped all of that to my Recaros, so I have the best of both worlds

Recaros were never comfy for me. I went on alot of long trips with that car and was always shifting around trying to make my back not hurt. Havent had that problem with the lnf seats yet

Either one of those will keep you held in your seat tho.

I find mine Recaros to be far more comfy than the stock SS/SC seats.

I was always adjusting myself due to the lack of bolsters on the SS/SC leathers.

recaros are hard to find in decent condition, however a good upholstery shop can make them new again. I like them a lot better than the black ss leather I had before

I was fortunate to find a mint set.

You're right though, they are rare to find w/o cracks in the leather and tears in the fabric.

So I managed to find a full mint set from a redline and was wondering if they just fit right in. They are extremely hard to find and have a price of 800 no negotiations. I really want them and have the money to spare but would like to know how bad I'm getting ripped.

The redlines do not just fit in technically...

You will need to swap your seat tracks/brackets from your stock seats to the recaros, because the redline has a different seat belt bolt and you wont be able to swap your cobalts belt with sensor to it.

Not too hard... I just did that for my car. So if you need help let me know.

I got mine for $315 from LKQ on E-bay

Don't forget you may also have to swap the passenger seat air bag sensor module, and belt mechanism to the recaro seat pan, or any other seat, depending on the year of the car they're going into. lnf are totally different frame design. Earlier models and some 07 didn't have the sensor. 08 on did. Recaro pans have extra steel welded to the pan/back frame for the extra rigid bolstering. Was easy to swap the sensor and pan as one into the black leather ones, but the recaro took extra effort, and beers.

Staged, I'd trade you recaros because I don't like the ss on mine. You aren't far lol.

I have to say I love my recaros also! I don't like straight leather because of how hot they are in the summer and cold in the winter if their not heated. My only problem is some idiot that owned it before me smoked in it and of course has one tiny burn whole in between your legs but the car is so perfect inside that it stands out to me but I have yet found a way to buy one seat, get it repaired, or by just the bottom part.

That's my problem with my driver side. has a hole in the seat from what looks like a hot lighter hit it or something. I'm going to talk to a guy when I get home to see if he's up to the task of putting new fabric in those panels, and possibly doing something fancy with the rear leather seat. Recaros are mint otherwise.

Correct. Most 07's require the air bag sensor swap in the passenger seat as well.

Also that's why I mentioned you need to swap the seat frames. The ion belt bolt is larger and will not bolt on to the SS/SC seat frames or vice versa.

I'll make a how to shortly.

How's the condition of your Recaros? Also, are they heated, because mine are, and I'm not removing all of that again, lol.

negative. I just have my air bag sensor in the passenger pan. only issue is the driver seat has a hole/burn in it. was going to have someone look into replacing the fabric since I can't get a new skin. otherwise they're in good condition. leather and all.
