2 months now on the waiting list with the dealership, not a single phone call with regards to an update on when parts might be available.

3 months for me and never got a call with an update either.

Don't really care, they'll probably just do more harm than good anyway.

Have had the car at the dealer resting for 3 weeks now, I dont mind though the car needed a little vacation, and instead of putting more miles on it im just racking them up on the rental. So I see it as a win, win situation. I do miss it though every time I get ooto the freeway, the corrolla doesnt have the same pull hahaha

Here is what I don't understand. The key might turn the car from the run to acc position thus shutting off the cars engine right? What is stopping people from calmly shifting into neutral and just restarting the car while moving? And a manual you should be able to turn the key off while in gear, keep moving, and then just flick the key back on and the car will turn back on without actually having to crank it again.

Lack of common sense or understanding.

Imagine going ~65 around a left turn bend on an interstate and you hit a huge pot hole and the car turns off, locking the steering wheel. Oh and there's an 18-wheeler in the right lane.

If you could react so quickly to get your head out of the "WTF, the car turned off?!" stage, push the clutch in, turn the car on and stay in your lane... you deserve a medal.

well that is an unfortunate scenario I agree. I wasn't necessarily referring to that but I mean like in a general sense.
