Or wreck it . When my SS was totaled, I got 2k more than what I paid for it 2 years prior!
S/N, I heard GM told all of the stealerships to stop selling the Chevy Cruze because of an airbag issue? At this point, with that huge fine and all of the attention they got with the ignition deal, I think they are recalling any and everything for anything...

i had heard they're also not selling the malibu too because of recalls or something. on the note of rarity while i can't see how they will ever be as sought after as the old american muscle cars it could happen i suppose. i don't know how many are on the road currently but you are correct on the ability to buy them for less will ultimately lead to the cars demise, because they'll all be in junk yards after some time.

They are all built on the same platform, the SS/TC merely has a lot of "upgrades" to an already cheaply designed suspension for an economy car. Also how many G's a car can pull is not indicative of how well it performs at the track. I was also comparing it to performance imports in the 90s, not what it was up against in the 2009 car market.

Almost no matter what you buy and drive, you will take some kind of hit on reselling later. 2 years ago I sold my optioned out low mileage Nissan Titan 4wd for 5k under NADA. I bought my ss because it was cheap and fun to drive. When the time comes to sell or trade, I know the market already sucks so it wont be such a kick in the *****.

Pretty sure evo's and STI's are in a class of their own my friend lol they're both almost 40,000 dollar car's and AWD turbo built specifically for rallycross. And your right, G force is the most basic measurement of handling, literally "the most basic measurement" and not a reasonable representation of overall handling of any car. GM uses the mcphearson strut design for one reason, it's cheap, and easy to reproduce. Sure, it works sufficiently decent in this day and age as a cheap "sport suspension" but compared to other more expensive designs that were widely available on sport compact imports in the 90s, it can't hold a candle to it. Saying that a car is faster going around a track can attribute to alot of things, just because the SS/TC came with more standard equipped horsepower than most 1990+ imports to get it around the track faster doesn't make it a handling monster. Typically reviews of the cobalt's suspension went like this "excessive body roll and numb, oddly boosted steering". Completely stereotypical of the mchphearson strut front and semi independent torsion beam rear, same setup that came equipped on the cavalier, just updated for modern car's.
