mmm sounds like a local guy i know claims he built a 400 hp cobalt for "cheap" he claims he ran an 11.2 my response to was to ask him what his 60 fts were. he said he didnt run 60 foots, then i clarified by saying the first 60 ft on the track. his response was that he forgot.
i had to choke back laughter
oh and for those of you who thinks he might be turbo'd
he said hes on "stage 2 supercharger" hmm... sounds a little like stage 2.
and finally when he found out i had a GTO he called me a tard because a GTO is one of the worst platforms for drag racing ever. i should have stayed with the ecotec that has been proven to run 1000+ horsepower.

Running 9's with a stage 2 pulley = physically impossible (unless the car weighs <1200 lbs).
Dynoing 350 with a stage 2 pulley = ...plausible? I'll be making 330-340 whp with a 2.9 and 9.5:1 compression. Who knows, stage 2 pulley + OMGWTF built motor w/ 10.5:1 compression = possibly 350?
I love talking to guys like that though. I'm just really nice, and ask simple questions (that legit guys would know the answer to), and just act interested. After embarrassing them enough, I just walk away, mid senten... *walks away*

I had a similar experience at a car show. A kid with a 2.6 pully, stock exhaust, and airbox mod told me he made 240hp/280 lb ft. He didn't even have a dual pass.
He proceeded to tell me with a header and dual pass he would be looking at 400 to the tire. And that when he bought the Harrop he was shooting for 700-800 to the tire. I tried to keep my mouth shut.

Wow, that guy is a ******* idiot. I cant help but laugh when people say **** like that. I have a buddy who thinks his Jeep has a supercharger, but cant find it or hear it. Another one who thinks his base RSX with an AEM intake can run 13's. Another one who thinks he's gonna get a twincharged Cobra but doesnt know **** about cars. The list goes on. I at least have the courage to say "no my **** aint supercharged" when someone asks me. It does feel disappointing though.

Hey guys I met some guy today who owns a SS/SC who claims he ran a 9.7
So I give the guy a chance and ask him what did he do to the car?
His answer was: GM personally tuned the car themselves(everything is done to it)
So then I say what size pulley...psi... so on
His answer: Its a stage 2
So then I say thats pretty funny because stage 2 is a 3.0 and the smallest is about a 2.5
He claims he also was running at 24psi... Rev limiter of 8k... and dynoed at 350
All I could do was laugh I never seen a FWD car with 350HP run a 9.7
The pulley was black... It said stage 2.... but it was on a stock supercharger

lol, its funny because I thought that maybe I was wrong and that this guy might have come up to you and said what your saying he said, but the fact that I waited to see if you would immediately answer my flame , which you did because it took like... 5 seconds, just goes to show that you are checking every min. to see if someone else has posted about how dumb your imaginary idiot friend is. Why would someone in the right mind say that they raced an R1 and won... in a balt. Either this guy was whacked out of his mind or completely imaginary... maybe it did happen, but man.... that's the most ridiculous thing Ive ever heard... ever. I apologize for the flame man but I've met some pretty crazy people where i live that have the most riced up cars and say they can do awesome times but no one has ever when that far, i just find it hard to believe someone said that.

Next time I see the kid I am getting a video of him saying all what he told me... I clearly asked him Quarter mile... he said 9.7 and i said dude i said QUARTER mile and he said yea i ran a 9.7 on 110 octane and pirellis or however you spell it...
It was pretty hilarious and he even had 2 little kids with him like "yea yea, i seen it blah blah"
yea not happening.... i ran a 14.2... with a 11.9 1000ft time
