SS Supercharged Question
Hi, Im gonna be buying a 06 Cobalt SS Supercharged I wanted to know if there is anything I should look out for on these cars to avoid getting a lemon, i know the obvious stuff like if he engine sounds like ass then its prolly been dogged out, but I didn't know if they is anything else that may be a common issue/problem in these cars that I should look into while im giving it a look over.

TC has brembos as well and i personally like their wheels as well. plus you can get a lot more out of the TC.
Make sure also there is nothing wrong with the steering column. Definitely check the pulley size, that could be a issue if its small and doesn't have the cooling mods ect.

To tell if your supercharger is stock: Check the pulley. The stock pulley is just pressed on (no bolts). If you have a GM Stage II kit, the pulley will be attached by 4 blue bolts. If it is OTTP or ZZP, it'll likely be held on with 5 bolts. Also, a GM Stage 2 Cobalt will have a CARB certification sticker somewhere in the engine bay.
Anyways, check the operation of the Heat Exchanger pump (The cap right by the supercharger, take it off, start the car. If the fluid isn't visibly actuating, the pump is shot).
I will also say listen to the car at idle. If it sounds like someone is shaking a can of rocks, then the supercharger coupler will need replaced (This isn't a major deal breaker since the stock eaton coupler is prone to being noisy and can easily be replaced).
Outside of that, do the usual when you go to look at the car. Test drive it, then inspect it over. The car should run smooth, and the shifter should move through the gate without issue. If the trans fights you, then there is something wrong. Get on the ground and check for any rust. Also, make sure you run the VIN through Carfax to check for any major issues.
I will make a note: check the seats in the car. If the front seats say "RECARO" below the SS logo, the car is likely the coveted G85 package.
